Intratuin Duiven Opens New Restaurant, De Proeftuin

Intratuin Duiven opened the new catering facility on Friday, March 30, 2018. The facility now covers approximately 500 m² for kitchens and distribution, along with about 1,000 m² of terraces on the ground floor and approximately 700 m² of mezzanine terraces.
The store’s expansion (approx. 8,000 m²) and the warehouse extension (approx. 4,000 m²) were already in use as of October 2017.
Intratuin Duiven now covers a total area of approximately 32,000 m², of which around 25,000 m² is retail space—roughly the size of 5 football fields with a 1 km long route (which can be shortened). The entire Plaza Graafstaete complex now spans about 50,000 m².
With the expansion, Intratuin Duiven has grown beyond just being a garden center; it’s now more of a green and experience center.
The new catering area, called De Proeftuin, is located in the center of the store. Various seating areas have been created, each with a unique atmosphere and style, ranging from botanical to oriental, and from sweet to tough.
The catering area has 800 seats, and a team of 50 employees ensures that guests are well cared for. All fresh products come from their own "Vegetable Garden," which is also open to the shopping public.
There’s plenty for children as well, with a play paradise featuring a climbing garden that extends up to 4 floors high, along with slides and trampolines.
