The garden center on the "Kromme Rade" has existed for over 20 years. The garden center began in an old greenhouse horticulture. The garden center, 700 square meters, aimed to sell all the items of a large garden center. However, the sales and retail space soon became too small, leading to expansions with a modern greenhouse in 1989 and 1992. In 1990, the name was changed from Garden Center Hilversum to Intratuin Hilversum.

More and more customers became familiar with Intratuin Hilversum.
From 1994 until the planning permission and construction in 2001, Garden Centre Advice had to fight to realize the renovation plans for this location. The venue is situated on the outskirts of a nature reserve. To facilitate the transition from the hardscape to the natural surroundings, Bradley & Rich designed a sloping brick wall that also conceals the stockroom's location.

In 2000-2001, the entire garden center, including the parking area, was renovated and expanded. After this renovation, the presentation of all items improved, and shopping became more comfortable. Currently, a team of 75 people advises customers on their purchases.
