New Build Intratuin, Nuenen (the Netherlands) 2010

A new Intratuin garden center has taken shape on the former landfill site in Nuenen.

Once a barren wasteland, the site has been transformed into an elevated green landscape, crowned by the impressive Intratuin building. This sustainable location perfectly complements Intratuin's commitment to environmental responsibility.

The garden center boasts a striking architectural design, featuring a high nave with a curved roof flanked by long, glass greenhouses. Despite the building's substantial size, the entrance doors remain human-scale, leading to a spacious open-plan retail area of approximately 6000 m². The interior walls are finished with timber, and climbing vines adorn the columns, creating a natural and inviting atmosphere.

Located at the rear of the unheated greenhouse, the Intratuin Cafe and a spacious logistics hub offer visitors a convenient dining experience and access to the upper level, which houses the garden furniture department. This retail space covers approximately 1500 m².

A visit to Intratuin in Nuenen is truly a "green" shopping experience.
